This Privacy Policy describes how Maps Places Extractor ("the Extension," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares user data when you use our Chrome™ browser extension and this website. This policy is provided in compliance with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies and the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Agreement.

By installing or using the Extension, you agree to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the Extension.

2. Data We Collect

We are committed to collecting only the minimum data necessary for the Extension to function. Below is a comprehensive disclosure of the types of user data the Extension collects and processes:

2.1 Publicly Visible Place Listing Data (Collected by the Extension)

When the user actively initiates an extraction, the Extension reads publicly visible place listing information displayed on the current webpage. This may include business names, categories, addresses, phone numbers, website URLs, ratings, review counts, geographic coordinates, and operating hours. This data is extracted from the visible page content only when the user triggers the action. No data is collected passively, in the background, or without user interaction.

2.2 Extension Settings and Preferences

The Extension may store user preferences and configuration settings locally using the Chrome Storage API (chrome.storage.local or chrome.storage.sync). This data remains on the user's device or is synced via the user's own Google account and is never transmitted to our servers.

2.3 License and Payment Information (If Applicable)

If the Extension offers a paid plan, license key, or subscription, we may process a license key or purchase identifier for the sole purpose of verifying your license status. We do not collect or store credit card numbers, bank details, or other financial payment information directly. Payment processing is handled by third-party payment providers (e.g., Stripe, Paddle, or Gumroad).

2.4 Support and Contact Information

If you contact us via the contact form on this website or by email, we collect the information you voluntarily provide: your name, email address, subject, and message content. This data is used solely to respond to your inquiry.

2.5 Web Browsing Activity

The Extension does not collect, monitor, or transmit any web browsing activity, browsing history, or page content beyond the specific, user-initiated extraction described in section 2.1. The Extension does not run in the background and does not track which websites you visit.

3. How We Use Your Data

All data collected is used solely to provide and improve the single purpose of the Extension: extracting publicly visible place listing data. Specifically:

• Place listing data is used only to provide the extraction results to you. It is processed locally in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.
• Settings and preferences are used to remember your configuration choices within the Extension.
• License/payment identifiers are used only to verify active license status.
• Support information is used only to respond to your requests and improve the product.

We do not use any collected data for purposes unrelated to the Extension's core functionality. We do not use data for personalized advertising, user profiling, or creditworthiness assessment.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We are committed to transparency about all parties with whom user data may be shared:

• We do not sell, trade, or rent user data to any third party, including advertisers, data brokers, or information resellers.
• Payment processors (e.g., Stripe, Paddle, Gumroad): If a paid version is offered, your payment is processed by a third-party provider. We only receive a license key or transaction reference — not your payment details. The payment processor's own privacy policy governs their handling of your financial information.
• Hosting providers: Our website is hosted on standard web hosting infrastructure. Contact form submissions are stored on our hosting server in a secured, access-restricted directory.
• No other third parties receive, access, or process user data from the Extension.

User data may only be transferred to third parties: (a) if necessary to provide the Extension's core functionality; (b) to comply with applicable laws or regulations; (c) to protect against malware, spam, phishing, fraud, or abuse; or (d) as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, but only after obtaining explicit prior consent from the user.

5. Limited Use Disclosure

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

• We limit the use of data to providing or improving the Extension's single purpose (extracting publicly visible place listing data).
• We do not transfer user data to third parties except as described in Section 4.
• We do not use or transfer user data for personalized advertisements.
• We do not allow humans to read user data unless: (a) we have obtained the user's explicit consent; (b) it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse; (c) to comply with applicable law; or (d) the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.

6. Permissions Justification

The Extension requests only the minimum browser permissions necessary to function. Each permission is used as follows:

• activeTab: Allows the Extension to access the content of the currently active tab only when the user clicks the Extension icon or triggers an extraction. This is required to read the publicly visible place listing data on the page.
• storage: Allows the Extension to save user preferences and settings locally. No data is sent externally.
• host permissions (if applicable): If the Extension requests access to specific host URLs, it is solely to enable extraction on specific mapping service pages. The Extension does not inject content or execute scripts on unrelated websites.

The Extension does not request or use permissions beyond what is strictly necessary for its stated functionality. We do not use broad host permissions or permissions that would grant access to all websites.

7. Data Storage and Security

Extracted place listing data is processed locally in your browser. It is not transmitted to or stored on any external server. User preferences are stored using the Chrome Storage API on your local device or synced through your Google account. Contact form submissions are stored on our web hosting server in a secured directory protected by access controls. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Extension settings and preferences are stored only for the duration of your use of the Extension. Uninstalling the Extension removes all locally stored data. Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry and are deleted upon request. If you wish to have any data deleted, you may contact us at privacy@mapextractor.co. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

9. User Choices and Rights

You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser via chrome://extensions. Upon uninstalling, all locally stored data (settings, preferences) is removed. You may contact us at any time to: request a copy of any personal data we hold about you; request deletion of your data; ask questions about our data handling practices. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.

10. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly. 11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to any paid license, subscription, or one-time purchase made for Maps Places Extractor through any payment provider. By making a purchase, you agree to the terms of this policy.

2. Refund Eligibility

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may request a full refund within 7 days of the original purchase date, unless otherwise stated at the time of checkout. Refund requests made after the 7-day window may be considered on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.

3. Non-Refundable Cases
